I facilitate workshops that explore how play, making, and collective experimentation can deepen our relationship with place, public space, and one another. Through accessible, hands-on activities, participants are invited to create, observe, and reimagine their surroundings, becoming active contributors to the development of artworks and shared experiences.

Solstice Festival Art Programme: Kite-Making Workshop

Solstice Festival Ruka, Finland

As a complementary public programme to our installation Tuulikki, Onni Aho and I led a kite-making workshop, inviting festival visitors and local participants to create small wind-responsive objects inspired by motifs from Finnish midsummer folklore.

Participants were invited to design and assemble simple kites or flag-like forms using off-cuts and surplus materials from the main installation, extending the life cycle of the project's textiles and structural components.

The programme is supported by Oulu 2026 – European Capital of Culture.

Fabric Sculptural Playground #2

Created in response with Nicolaas Van de Lande’s exhibition “Not Scary, But Soft”, participants had the freedom to tie, draw, fold, stack, cut and rearrange materials to build a soft installation that shifted through collective decisions and spontaneous gestures.

Reflecting in my ongoing exploration of how built systems and social structures shape behaviour, Fabric Sculptural Playground invited participants to reflect on how environments emerge through shared action. What changes when we move from observing to making? How does collaboration reshape our sense of space and possibility?

This workshop was part of the exhibition public programme and was curated by Rosalita Baldassin.

London Festival of Architecture: Tiles-Making Workshop

As part of winning the Fitz and Sits programme, architect Asia Zwierzchowska and I collaborated to design and build Bare Things, one of nine temporary public benches installed across Fitzrovia for the London Festival of Architecture 2025.

As part of the project, we hosted two community workshops with Fitzrovia Community Centre, inviting local participants to respond to a passage from Virginia Woolf's The Waves through the making of patterned concrete tiles.
Together, we explored themes of reflection, belonging, and the shared experience of public space, using the workshops as an opportunity to shape the bench collectively.

Each handmade tile became a permanent part of the bench's footings, embedding the voices, gestures, and conversations of the local community into the final installation.

KCW Art Week Series: Fabric Sculptural Playground

Using leftover materials, this collaborative workshop invites children and families to engage creatively while promoting community participation.
Over a 4-hour drop-in session, participants will work together to build a large fabric sheet using off-cut fabric and other materials provided. A designated area with a large canvas or surface will be set up, allowing participants to join at any time to contribute.

Facilitators will assist with threading and shaping the fabric safely. Once the fabric sheet is established, off-cut rope, cord, and string will be introduced as materials to create texture and structure.

Participants will receive guidance on shaping techniques and safety measures and are encouraged to experiment with patterns and designs, drawing inspiration from Sarah Ryder’s work to foster creativity and community engagement.

This workshop is supported by the Royal Society of Sculptors and is part of KCW Art Week 2024.

Participating LDF with Goya Design studio and ran a pilot workshop with children and parents on how to make a better playground at Peckham Levels.

In addition to the LDF, I also repainted the mural of the Playground at Peckham Levels.

Animating Cunard: An Introduction To Stop-Motion

I was invited as a guest artist to travel with Queen Mary 2 from New York to Southampton.

During this trip, I delivered an artist talk about my commissioned work to the audience, as well as running two interactive stop motion workshops with the guests on board.

Stuffed: Dumpling Workshop

“STUFFED”, a dumpling workshop I facilitated at Peckham Levels for the residents and the local communities. Using dumpling making as a way to look at how culture and daily infrastructure shapes the way we live, move and react.

In this three hour workshop, I presented a series of interactive activities, from the discussion around the Impact of culture on food-related behaviour, to getting our hands on dumpling making, and of course, stuffing ourselves with all the delicious dumplings!

Looking For The Eye Candy

In SESAM 2021 Poliklinika, each residency consists of six WORKSHOPS, run by architectural students and young professionals under the umbrella theme ‘Poliklinika’ (polyclinic in English), focusing on healthcare and its relation to architecture. The workshops cover a wide spectrum of practices in architecture, from design and construction to theoretic research and conceptual art.

In the workshop I proposed to this residency, Looking For The Eye Candy, my idea was to make the act of waiting into a healing process, through the serendipitous discoveries inside the waiting room within the Poliklinika. By adding interactive elements and activities into the space, users are invited to explore their environment, using playfulness as a means of distraction to dispel uncertain feelings during waiting periods.

We have three selected spaces at the Poliklinika, which are Pipe Room, Black and White Room, and SunRoom. Each space is developed along a ‘quote’ that relates to our ‘senses’, using the founding objects in the poliklinika, we designed a series of interactive elements and activities that can "guide" the audience to discover all those interesting features within the space through engaging with their senses.

These speculative installations have involved a variety of creative exercises, such as colour and shape studies of the city, playground visiting, sensory exercise, and of course, a lot of FUN :D.
